Alien Trick-or-Treat Bag Crochet Pattern
How to crochet an Alien Trick-or-Treat Bag for all the Halloween fun! Complete with probing eye and dangling tentacles, he’s definitely more treat than trick. This martian treat bag is both quick and fun to make!
My grandson is almost 2-years-old (Yikes, now he’s almost 4!) this year and it’s his first official foray into the world of trick-or-treating. So, I wanted to create a trick-or-treat bag for him that he could wear, like a cross-body bag, rather than having to carry it all evening (we all know it would be lost within the first 10 minutes!).
I think this silly alien does the trick and the grandbaby loves it!

- US Terminology
- When a round begins with a CH1, the ch does not count as a st. When a round begins with a CH2, it does count as a st.
- When switching colors, simply drop one color and pick up the next with the next stitch. Do not cut yarn until instructed.
- For a hand held bag, with CC1, ch18 in rnd 14 rather than 40 (50, 60)
- For a slightly larger alien, use a bulkier yarn like Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick and a size 9.00 mm hook for a larger alien.

And your alien is finished!
I sure hope your little trick-or-treater enjoys this fun little bag and I promise the alien won’t gobble up all their candy!
I can’t wait to see how you customize him! Will you use one eye, three, or more? Will you go with traditional green or maybe teal for your little one with allergies or multicolored for your unicorn lover?
When you make one, please post it in our Facebook group or tag me (@madewithatwist) when you post on Instagram #madewithatwisters. I love seeing your work!
Have a happy Halloween and keep on crocheting!
