Before my last craft fair, I was trying to come up with a quick project that I could sell at a low price point – something folks could give as a hostess or teacher gift and that would work up in less than an hour and….drumroll please…I just had to make a bobble Christmas tree ornament!
And, now, you can make some too with the the free Oh, Bobble Tree Ornament crochet pattern detailed below. And, this pattern is featured in the 2021 Trim a Tree Blog Hop!
This little beauty was a big seller at the fair and customers particularly liked this blush version. It’s so on trend and fun but the classic white was a hit, too!
Oh, Bobble Tree Christmas Ornament
It’s just the sweetest little ornament and because it works up so quickly, you can make them by the dozens and add them all to one tree or give them as gifts to all your loved ones!
Add sparkles and beads, little lights, or baby poms – I can’t wait to see how you make this design your own!
Let’s get to it, shall we? On Dec 9, you can get the downloadable PDF for this pattern for free when you grab the code using the button, below. Then, come back here and find the “Download the PDF” button at the bottom of this page. Input the code and you’ll have your pattern, ready to print!

Stitch Abbreviations
- beg – Beginning
- CC – Contrasting Color
- ch – Chain
- dc – Double Crochet
- MC – Main Color
- sc – Single Crochet
- sc2tog – Single Crochet 2 Stitches Together
- sl st – Slip Stitch
- st(s) – Stitch(es)
- YO – Yarn Over
Special Stitches
Bobble Stitch (BS): A set of 4 unfinished dcs, worked into the same st, and finished all together to form one st.
To make a BS:
- YO, insert hook into next st and pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (two loops remain on hook),
- YO, insert hook into same st and pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (three loops remain on hook),
- YO, insert hook into same st and pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (four loops remain on hook),
- YO, insert hook into same st and pull up a loop, YO, pull through two loops (five loops remain on hook),
- YO, pull through all five loops on the hook.
Note: normally, a bobble stitch will be popped toward the back. Since this piece is worked in the round, our bobble will be popped to the front. (I know it’s unorthodox, but it works!)
Pattern Notes
- Skill Level: Easy
- US Terminology
- When a row begins with a ch 1, the ch does not count as a st.
- To make your bobbles really pop, be sure to work the subsequent sc tightly. You won’t be working a ch after completing the bobble.
