Chunky Headband Pattern Notes

Special Stitches

Step 1: Sk st, SLST into the next st and CH2.
Step 2: Yarn over and insert hook into the previously skipped st, draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through all three loops on the hook. (XST made)

Step-by-Step Guide to Crocheting the Jessie Headband
Instructions give for sizes S (M, L)
Loosely CH 36 (38, 40), join with SLST to beg CH being careful not to twist.
Rnd 1: CH1, SC in same stitch as beg CH, SC in each st around. Join with SLST to beg SC. 36 (38, 40) sts
Rnd2: SLST into 2nd st from hook (counts as first skipped st here and throughout), CH2 (counts as first HDC here and throughout), HDC in previously skipped st, *SK next st, HDC in next st, HDC in skipped st,* repeat * to * around. Join with SLST to top of beg CH-2. 36 (38, 40) sts
Rnd 3-4: repeat Rnd 2. 36 (38, 40) sts
Rnd 5: repeat Rnd 1. 36 (38, 40) sts
Fasten off.
Add optional buttons or flower as desired.

OPTIONAL FLOWER PATTERN
With coordinating color yarn…
Start with a Magic Ring OR
CH5, join with a SLST to form a ring. CH1.
RND 1: Into ring, work 10 SC. Join with SLST to first SC. (10 sts)
RND 2: *CH2, work 3 TR in next st, CH2, SLST in next st.* Repeat * * 4 more times and fasten off. (5 petals)
Tuck ends and sew onto headband.
