As I was heading out on vacation, I caught a glimpse of the Colorado peaks dusted in their first snow of the season.
That fleeting view stuck with me—the soft white caps against the muted green of the mountains behind our property—and I knew I wanted to capture that feeling in yarn.
The Misty Green Bernat Blanket Yarn perfectly mirrored those misty ridges, and the creamy vanilla brim reminded me of that fresh layer of snow that signals winter’s arrival.
Now, as I prepare to head home, I can already picture those mountains welcoming me back—along with my husband and our cozy routines.

With 9.00 mm hook and super bulky yarn in color A…
RND 1: (working into a magic circle or 3CH closed loop) SC 9. Join with SLST to beg SC. (8 SC)
RND 2: CH1, 2HDC in next st and each st around. Join with SLST to beg HDC. (18 HDC)
RND 3: CH1, *HDC in next st, 2HD in each of next 3 sts. Repeat from * 3 more times. Join with SLST to beg HDC. (27 HDC)
Diameter should measure 4.5″. Change to Color B.
RND 4: CH1, HDC in each st around. Join with SLST to beg HDC. (27 HDC)
RNDs 5 – 7: Repeat RND 4. (27 HDC)
Continue for bucket brim. Go to end of pattern for ruffle brim.
