Winter Snowflake Baby Booties Crochet Pattern

MATERIALS

Materials

  • 3.75 mm (F) crochet hook
  • 40-5- yards Lion Brand Yarn Vanna’s Choice in Sky Blue
  • 5 yards Bernat Blanket Yarn in White
  • White embroidery thread
  • scissors
  • tapestry needle
  • embroidery needle

  • SK: skip a stitch
  • SLST: slip stitch
  • CH: chain
  • SC: single crochet
  • HDC: half-double crochet
  • DC: double crochet
  • TC: treble crochet

Pattern Details

  • Gauge: 20 stitches X 20 rows = 4” square
  • Stitch used for gauge: single crochet
  • Size(s): 0-3 months, 3-6 months, 6-12 months
  • Measurement(s): Sole of feet: 3.5 inches for 0-3 month size, 3.75 inches for 3-6 month size, 4.25 inches for 6-12 month size.

Important Notes

  • No matter your skill level, I always suggest that you read through the pattern from beginning to end before beginning your work just to be sure you don’t have any questions that might cause frustration in the midst of your project.
  • Every round will be finished with a slip stitch
  • There will be no turning at the end of rounds. Continue working in the same direction through the whole pattern.
  • ch 1 will NEVER count as a stitch.
  • Some embroidery knowledge is required for this pattern. Follow the chart provided to know exactly where to embroider the snowflake.
  • The number before a stitch (2sc) determines how many stitches are to be worked in a single stitch from the previous round.
  • The number after a stitch (sc 6) determines one stitch for each number of stitches from the previous round.
  • Instructions between asterisks (*) are to be repeated the number of times mentioned after the last asterisk.
  • Round 5 will be worked in the back loops only, but all other rounds will be worked in both loops together.

Snowflake Baby Booties Crochet Pattern

0-3 Month Booties

With 3.75mm (F) hook size:

Using Sky Blue yarn, ch 9,

RND 1: Work 2hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 ch, work 4hdc in next ch, (continuing on the opposite side of ch [see below]) sc in next 6 ch, work 2hdc in the last ch, sl st to join. (20)

RND 2: ch 1, 2hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, hdc 6, 2hdc in each of the next 4 stitches, hdc 6, 2hdc in each of the last 2 stitches, sl st to join. (28)

RND 3: ch 1, *2hdc, hdc* 2 times, sc 6, *2hdc, hdc* 4 times, sc 6, *2hdc, hdc* 2 times, sl st to join. (36)

RND 4: ch 1, working in back loop only (see below), sc in every stitch around, sl st to join. (36)

RND 5: ch 1, working in both loops, sc in every stitch around, sl st to join. (36)

RND 6: ch 1, sc 14, *sc2tog, sc* 3 times, sc 13, sl st to join. (33)

RND 7: ch 1, sc 12, hdc2tog 5 times, sc 11, sl st to join. (28)

RND 8: ch 1, sc 11, hdc2tog 3 times, sc 11, sl st to join. (25)

RND 9: ch 1, sc 11, dc2tog 2 times, sc 10, sl st to join. (23)

Switch to White Chunky Yarn

Finish off and sew in ends.

3-6 Month Booties

With 3.75mm (F) hook size:

Using Sky Blue yarn, ch 10,

RND 1: Work 2hdc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 ch, 2 hdc in next ch, work 4hdc in next ch, (continuing on opposite side of ch [see below]) 2hdc in next ch, sc in next 6 ch, work 2hdc in last ch, sl st to join. (24)

RND 2: ch 1, 2hdc in each of the next 2 stitches, hdc 7, 2hdc in each of the next 6 stitches, hdc 7, 2hdc in each of the last 2 stitches, sl st to join. (34)

RND 3: ch 1, *2hdc, hdc* 2 times, sc 7, *2hdc, hdc* 6 times, sc 7, *2hdc, hdc* 2 times, sl st to join. (44)

RND 4: ch 1, working in back loop only (see below), sc in every stitch around, sl st to join. (44)

RND 5: ch 1, working in both loops, sc in every stitch around, sl st to join. (44)

RND 6: ch 1, sc 16, *sc2tog, sc* 4 times, sc 16, sl st to join. (40)

RND 4: ch 1, working in back loop only (see below), sc in every stitch around, sl st to join. (48)
